Our Charities We have such fun organising our Baby and Toddler fairs, our exhibitors meet some great customers and our visitors have such a great day, that we want to share the goodness with others. Special Occasion Events are looking for local charities to support throughout 2010. We would like to support a small charity, preferably baby or children related, where we can really make a difference. As we would like to help a charity who could do with the exposure it's difficult to know where to find them, as all the ones we can find clearly don't need as much help with getting their name out there!!
We are offering 10% of all ticket sales and the individual Baby and Toddler Fairs’ raffle proceeds as well as a stand at each of the events to promote their work, a full page in our A4 Exhibition Brochure, details of the charity’s work here as well as listings on the exhibitors pages and what's on pages on the individual Event sites. Finally they will also be featured on all the marketing materials and press releases throughout the year. And anything else I can think of!! We have now chosen our nominated charity for Milton Keynes and Leicester, and further details on these worthy causes can be found below. But we are still looking - if you know of a suitable charity local to the Oxford or Northampton areas, please contact us on annabel@specialoccasionevents.co.uk. This year, in Milton Keynes we are supporting The Hope for Hollie campaign. The Hope for Hollie campaign was set up by Peter and Helen Carter when their 2 year old daughter Hollie was diagnosed with Nieman Pick Disease, a rare degenrative neurological condition for which there is currently no cure. Although this disease affects only 100 children in the UK, Hollie’s campaign has been joined by another little boy, Joshua, who also lives in Milton Keynes. For more information please visit the Hope for Hollie website or the Nieman Pick Disease Group The Leicester Baby and Toddler Fair Leicester Tigers Sunday 18th April 2010
Rainbows is the East Midlands only hospice dedicated to children and young people, so this is our chosen charity in Leicester. Sometimes children just don’t live long enough, and Rainbows has been helping life-limited children and their families find care and support since it opened its doors in 1994. Rainbows helps by relieving symptoms, improving quality of life, supporting parents and siblings through the darkest of bereavements and caring for children until the end. We hope you will be as touched by the Rainbows magic as we, and the children they care for, have been.
