I’m Annabel Brown and I am the founder of Special Occasion Events.

The idea for Special Occasion Events was borne out of my own experiences as an exhibitor with my first business, My Chocolate Occasion, but also as a parent to a very cheeky little girl. I think this is what gives Special Occasion Events an edge- our Baby and Toddler Fairs are designed with exhibitors and parents in mind, and our mission is to make sure everyone, big or small, buying selling or investigating, has a great time. A special occasion, in fact.

When my daughter was born, I was completely unprepared for her arrival, and with the exception of a couple of tons of muslin squares, I had no idea what a ‘real mummy’ would buy. The Baby and Toddler Fairs we organise are aimed at those parents, grandparents and children who want to find out about what products are available, who like to support local businesses, and who want a family-friendly, fun, useful and informative day. People like me really!

We want our visitors to have a good time, but we want exhibitors to enjoy themselves too. Whether you choose to take part in one of the many demonstrations we have on offer is up to you, but Special Occasion Events will do as much as we can to make your exhibiting experience as fabulous as we can. But however unprepared I was to enter the world of motherhood (and believe me, I learned fast!), the birth of Special Occasion Events was a natural step for me. Having trained as a primary school teacher, when I moved into marketing I was already used to the tears and tantrums… My fourteen years experience in marketing and promotion, including working on a number of household names, means that Special Occasion Events are not just special to me and my team- the whole world will know and love them!

I always attend each event personally, and can normally be found chatting to visitors, tickling babies, helping exhibitors, taking part in a demonstration, or if all else fails, having a quick cuppa in the exhibitors’ area. I’d love to see you there next time…
